Columbus Cardinal Volleyball

The Junior High Volleyball 7th Grade A Team and 8th Grade A Team had a tournament in Brenham on 9-30-17.  The 7th Grade A Team went 2-2 and finished in 3rd Place.  The 8th Grade A Team went 1-3.  The Junior High Volleyball teams have a bye on October 2 and their next game will be in La Grange on 10-9-17.

The Lady Cards had their coming off their first District win of the season against Stafford face Needville in Needville on Tuesday, September 26 against.  Columbus came up short losing 1-2 in Freshman Game, 0-2 in JV Game and 0-3 In Varsity Game.  Next game is @ Sealy Friday, September 29.  Columbus Freshman defeated the Lady Tigers 2-1, JV lost 2-0 and Varsity lost a tough one 3-2.  The Lady Cards Varsity is currently 18-11 on the season and 1-3 in District Play.  The Lady Cards have two home District games this upcoming week.  They play Brookshire Royal on Tuesday, October 3 and Bellville on Friday, October 6.  CLICK HERE TO SEE FULL SCHEDULE

Columbus Cardinal Football

The 7th Grade A and B Football Teams lost to Cuero.  Their next game is Thursday, October 5 against Brookshire Royal in Columbus @ 5.

The 8th Grade Football Team won a great game against Cuero 38-34.  Recap of the end.  No time left after a penalty. One untimed down and Phillips wins it on his 6th TD of the night. He also had around 400 total yards on the night. A big fumble recovery by Ramirez set up the final offensive possession.  Their next game is Thursday, October 5 against Brookshire Royal in Columbus.

The JV and Freshman game against Cuero got rained out on Thursday, September 28.  Their next game is Thursday, October 5 @ Huffman Hargrave.  Freshman play @ 5 followed by the JV.

The Cardinals Varsity Football Team played the Cuero Gobblers on Friday, September 29 in Columbus.  The Gobblers score quick and often in the first 3 quarters.  The Cardinals couldn’t match the offense from the Gobblers and lose 61-7.  Next game is Friday, October 6 against Huffman Hargrave in Columbus @ 7:30.  This game is also Homecoming.

St. Anthony

The St. Anthony Volleyball A team defeated Sacred Heart and the B team lost.  The Saints next game will be Monday, October 2 against St. Ludmila in Columbus.

St. Anthony Football Teams next game will be against Sacred Heart in Columbus on October 4 @ 5:30.

Youth Football

Columbus Youth Football and Cheerleading

Rookies, JV and Varsity Teams played Giddings in Giddings on Saturday, September 30.

Rookies Won 21-12, JV Won 40-6 and Varsity Won 19-6.

Their next games will be against Columbus #2 in Columbus on Saturday, October 7.

Columbus Youth Football Federation

 

Rookies, JV and Varsity Teams played Sealy in Sealy on Saturday, September 30.

Rookies won 20-0, JV Lost 32-6 and Varsity Lost 28-0.

Their next games will be against Columbus #1 in Columbus on Saturday, October 7.

Select Leagues

The local 14U Force softball team played in a tournament on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 in Weimar.  The Force won the Championship.

The local 10U Force softball team played in a tournament on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 in Weimar.  The Force won the Championship.

The local 14U Lady Aces softball team played in a tournament on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 in Weimar.  The Lady Aces came in 2nd.

The local 10U Lady Aces softball team played in a tournament on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 in Weimar.  The Lady Aces came in 3rd.
